How long will it take?

Usually we can finish your basement in six weeks from the start of framing to the final touches. This time will vary depending upon the complexity of the project and whether or not custom and/or special order products are used.

Is a permit required?

Yes it is! We obtain all permit/s and inspections required for your particular project. Some municipalities require a separate business license and use tax, we manage all of these details. We also track the many code changes made at the Regional Building Department to insure their are no surprises.

I had a "contractor" tell me that they would do the job but wanted me to pull the permit, is this legal?

It is legal for homeowners to obtain their own permits, however, if a "contractor" is asking for you to do this then it is likely that they aren't licensed or haven't kept their license and insurance current. If this is the case then you could end up with unlicensed and uninsured workers in your home. It's not likely for them to be around to warranty their work either.

What about inspections?

Most basement projects require at least 9 inspections. We meet all of the inspectors, it's our job!

How do you gain access to the basement during construction?

Nearly all tools and materials can be brought in through the basement window or walkout door. Some exceptions include drywall and cabinetry. In these cases we coordinate with you to gain access through the home.

Is there a warranty?

Yes, we warranty all of our basement finishes for two years from the completion of the project. Many of our competitors offer only a one-year warranty.

Is the price guaranteed?

We strive to confirm all details of the job before we begin. However, there is always the option for you to change your selections during the course of the project to suit your style. We track these changes during the process and keep you updated so there are no surprises at the end.
